GLOBAL SPRINT CHALLENGE CHAMPION

1. The Global Sprint Challenge champion is determined by the horse with the highest number of points from challenge races listed in this booklet and satisfies the
following:

- accumulates 42 points or above in a single season

- participates in challenge races in at least three countries

It is important to note that in some years there may not be a Global Sprint Challenge champion. The champion in 2005 was Cape of Good Hope (HK) and in 2006 was Takeover Target (AUS). There was no champion in 2007, 2008 or 2009.

2. The Global Sprint Challenge champion horse also identifies the winning owner, trainer and jockey. Where the challenge champion horse is ridden by more than one jockey, the jockey with the highest number of points receives the trophy, or in the event of a tie, the jockey with the highest prize money earnings. In the event of two horses each sharing highest points at the end of the challenge year, the championship will be decided on a count-back of results with ‘away’ results counting ahead of home results.

3. Throughout the Global Sprint Challenge events, tables are to be published identifying the relative points accumulated by horses competing for challenge champion status.

4. If a challenge champion horse is sold during the course of the challenge season, the winning owner will be recognised as the owner of the horse at the finale of the
annual challenge in Hong Kong.

5. In the case of a dead-heat between horses for 1st or other places up to 5th place, points will be shared from the combined total of points of the winning order of the horses concerned.

6. If a points earning horse is disqualified from a challenge race, either on race day or subsequently, challenge championship points will be allocated on the revised
official result.

7. In the event of a postponement of a challenge race to a new date / venue in the same calendar year, points earned from the revised race date will still count towards the Global Sprint Challenge.

8. Any horse disqualified or prevented from running as a result of a positive test for a prohibited substance (pre or post race) will be ineligible for the calendar year bonus and championship points for the year in which the positive occurred. All travel incentives are also refundable under these circumstances and fines may be applicable.

9. Each challenge event is run under the jurisdiction of each Jockey Club, Racing Association or appropriate race organiser, who’s National or State rules of racing constitute the jurisdiction under which each race takes place.

INCENTIVES

All parties hosting Global Sprint Challenge races welcome enquiries concerning potential contributions towards the cost of transport for horses travelling from overseas to compete specifically in challenge races.
